Saturday Conservatory Workshops

Butterflygirl 1CTC’s Saturday Conservatory workshops consist of 8 specialty workshops for students who have completed at least one session of Core Summer Theatre Conservatory. These workshops are held during the school year and focus on specific theatre topics ranging from Masks to Makeup to Musical Theatre to Puppetry and more! Choose single workshops that interest you the most, or enroll in all 8 at a discount, and expand your theatrical repertoire to the fullest. Theatre education is never complete, plus this is a great way to keep in touch with friends from Summer Conservatory, too!

April 15 – Setting the Stage: Scenic Design 
Learn how to design interesting and creative scenic elements for any stage!

Individual workshops are $70.

Auditioning: Claim Your Role!
Students learned what directors are looking for and how to be successful with given materials (songs/scripts) and on the spot auditions!

Halloween Fun: Masks and Makeup
Students learned makeup techniques and were each able to create a molded character mask! 

Puppetry: An Extension of Acting Learn how to bring puppets to life with a range of emotions and act through inanimate objects!

Muscials: Sing and Dance the Morning Away! Learn a song and dance to introduce you to the world of Musical Theatre!

Improv-a-Thon: Saturday Morning Live! 
BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND – Learn to think on your feet and make appropriate, fun choices in character!

Speak the Speech: Fun with Dialects 
Learn the art of changing your voice to sound like you were raised in a different country!

These workshops are offered on select Saturdays from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm in the CTC Classroom at 753 E El Camino Real, Sunnyvale.

Character Development

IMG_0146A brand new four-week course in which students who have completed at least one session of our Intermediate and Advanced Conservatory will work together to analyze scripts and characters and learn the art of scene study. Each student will have the opportunity to work on two different scenes with different partners.

Intermediate and Advanced 
Conservatory Auditions

IMG_7148_1575x1050Audition to be a part of Intermediate or Advanced Summer Conservatory 2017! Students who have participated in at least on session of our Core Conservatory and are at least 12 years of age can audition to be placed in our upper level Intermediate Conservatory. Once students have been accepted into, and has completed, at least one year of Intermediate Conservatory, they can audition for placement in our highest level Advanced Conservatory. Students are placed based on their audition, age, recommendations from previous CTC teachers, quality of past Conservatory work, plus participation in other CTC educational programs. Continual auditions are required of students until they have completed two years of Advanced Conservatory, to allow CTC staff to see the students’ growth as theatre artists and to make the appropriate placement.
